Robert Reffkin

Founder, Chairman & CEO, Compass International Holdings

Robert Reffkin founded Compass in 2012, drawing inspiration from his mother, Ruth, a longtime real estate agent. Under his leadership, Compass ascended to become the country's #1 real estate brokerage in the United States, achieving half a trillion dollars in real estate sales. Robert holds both a B.A. and M.B.A. from Columbia University, and his professional background includes roles at McKinsey and Goldman Sachs, along with a tenure as a White House Fellow. Beyond his business endeavors, he has run 50 marathons in 50 states, raising $1 million for charities–including the nonprofit America Needs You, which he founded to empower young people from underprivileged backgrounds, assisting them in becoming the first in their families to attend college. He is also donating all of his proceeds from his recent book, No One Succeeds Alone, to nonprofits that help young people realize their dreams.

Mike Simonsen is the first-ever Chief Economist at Compass, bringing over 20 years of real estate data expertise and 35 years of software entrepreneurship to the company’s national network. As the founder and former CEO of Altos Research, Mike pioneered the shift from lagging industry reports to real-time, weekly housing analytics, a methodology that transformed how professionals and consumers understand the market. Widely cited by major outlets such as The New York Times, Bloomberg, and The Atlantic, Mike is a master at distilling complex data into actionable insights. At Compass, he works cross-functionally to turn high-level housing analytics into a clear competitive advantage, empowering agents to serve as the most informed, data-driven advisors for their clients in any market cycle.

Ashley Donat

As National Head of Coaching at Compass, Ashley Donat leads the company’s agent development strategy, designing high-impact programs that help thousands of agents and teams scale their businesses and adopt industry-leading technology. Her career at Compass began as the co-founder of the top-producing Bridge Team in Chicago, where she discovered her passion for building growth-oriented systems and high-performing teams. Ashley has also held key leadership roles as a Sales Manager and Regional Head of Strategic Development, consistently drawing on her background in education to deliver engaging, expert-level training. A recognized industry voice featured in publications like The Real Deal and Chicago Agent Magazine, Ashley remains a dedicated catalyst for professional success, helping agents realize their full potential in an evolving market.

Shay Artzi

Chief Technology Officer, Compass International Holdings
Shay Artzi is SVP & Head of Technology at Compass International Holdings. Shay and his teams are responsible for the technical design, architecture, delivery and maintenance of the Agent Platform, as well as Security, and Compliance, Technical Infrastructure, Enterprise Technology, and the Project and Integration Management offices in the Technology Organization.

Shay began his Compass journey in 2021 and brings 25 years of experience building software, leading engineering teams, and growing careers at companies such as Amazon and IBM. He has a PhD in computer science from MIT, is the author of dozens of scientific publications in academic journals and conferences, and holds 14 US patents. Outside of work, Shay enjoys playing basketball, skiing, poker, and spending time with his wife and three children.
